More Applications for Paubox Kahikina 2025 – Lunch with Hoala Greevy

What happened?

I met with Hoala Greevy, the Founder/CEO at Paubox, at the Pacific Club for Lunch in Honolulu, HI.

What is their Company?

Paubox provides HIPAA compliant communication solutions for businesses. Although ScholarsApp is not under HIPAA, we use Paubox to secure our communications. Paubox also created the Kahikina Scholarship which gives scholarships to Native Hawaiian Students who plan to study in STEM related fields across the country.

Problem

The Kahikina Scholarship would like as many applications for their scholarships as possible. It is currently seeing a majority of their applications from specific schools. They would like to receive more applications and participation from other schools.

Suggested Solution

Engage with Schools and start small – Counselors and staff at the school are main drivers or gatekeepers of scholarships getting to the students. It’s important that they know about the scholarship and are aware that their students have a good chance of potentially receiving the scholarship. The best way to do this is to start small. I suggested to Hoala that he designates a scholarship recipient slot for his alma mater, Mckinley High School. This will give more reason to the staff at that school to promote the Kahikina Scholarship to their students.
